ABOUT JULIA
Meet Julia
Hi, I’m Julia! I’m a 29-year-old photographer born and raised in the Boston area. I’ve always been “the friend with the camera,” a title I wear with pride. From my own engagement photos, to my wedding day, to welcoming my daughter, I’ve been the one capturing the milestones.
Photography has always been second nature to me. What started as a personal passion to preserve my own memories has grown into a desire to help others do the same. By day, I’m a social worker in a public high school. This role has taught me patience, empathy, and how to connect deeply with many different types of people.
As I work toward a certificate in Digital Photography through Cornell University, my focus is on capturing real moments and building a portfolio filled with images that feel both authentic and timeless. Every session is a chance to make new connections, have fun, and create photos you’ll treasure forever.
To me, photography is about connection. The way your newborn’s fingers curl around yours, the laughter between friends that you can hear through a picture, the way love looks without being posed. My hope is that when you look back on your photos, you’re able to feel a moment all over again.
For years, photography was something I did for myself. I mastered the settings on my first camera and handed it off to my twin sister (who shot my engagement photos) because I knew what I wanted and I knew how to do it. I did the same at my own wedding. And when my daughter was born I documented everything - from her first sleepy smile to the way my husband looked at her like she hung the moon.
That’s when I realized: the same instinct I’ve always had for capturing my own memories could help others preserve theirs. Life moves fast. Kids grow up, relationships evolve, and seasons change before we even stop to notice. Photographs are one of the few things that can hold a moment still.
I’m at the beginning of my professional photography journey, but my love for this craft has been growing for years. My goal is simple: to create images you’ll always cherish, not because they’re perfectly posed, but because they’re perfectly real.
